About this race
The Striders' Percy Pud 10K is a 10km race held in South Yorkshire on the first Sunday of December. Established in 1993 with 600 finishers, demand has since grown significantly. Recent editions have been limited to approximately 2,975 participants, and the race has sold out in advance for the past 12 years.
The race's unique feature is the Christmas pudding awarded to every finisher. Post-run refreshments and seasonal music are provided, and for many local runners, the Percy Pud signifies the beginning of the Christmas period. The race remains competitive at the front, offering trophies, vouchers, champagne, and additional puddings for category winners, alongside veteran prizes for age groups from 35-39 up to 75 and over. The race rules prohibit the use of pushchairs, buggies, strollers, wheelchairs used for pushing another person, and similar equipment.
