About this race
The Bournemouth Coastal TEN begins at Hengistbury Head in Bournemouth, Dorset, offering participants a choice between a 10-mile race or a 10K. This is a flat, traffic-free run along Bournemouth’s seafront paths, featuring chip timing, marshals, and water stations.
The course departs from the Hengistbury Head nature reserve and passes along Boscombe Pier, with the sea adjacent to the route for most of the distance. On clear days, views extend across to the Isle of Wight and The Needles, and Old Harry Rocks are also visible along the Jurassic Coast. The event is suitable for club runners aiming for a fast time, those new to 10-mile distances, and anyone seeking a simple coastal race with a medal and refreshments provided at the finish.
