About this race
Run to the Sea Bournemouth is a 50km point-to-point ultramarathon from Moors Valley Country Park near Ringwood to Hengistbury Head on the Bournemouth coast. It begins early in the morning and follows a mostly flat route, suitable for runners attempting their first ultra while still offering faster runners a chance at a strong 50km time. The race is multi-terrain, not solely a road run, focusing on steady progress from inland parkland toward the sea.
The route incorporates the Castleman Trailway, featuring wooded trails, forest sections, coastal paths, and a seafront stretch into Bournemouth before concluding at Hengistbury Head. Runners are provided with numerous feed stations, and organisers can dispatch personal nutrition to these points for those preferring familiar food during the race. Andy Macaskill directs the event, and recent entries have sold out quickly, attracting a field larger than just local participants.
