The Medal Madness Winter 2026

The Medal Madness Winter is an end-of-year running event held at Shipley Country Park in Derbyshire. It follows the format of the organizer’s 6-hour runs, but with a simpler, more unique concept: finishers receive a random medal from the organizer’s current stock, rather than one created specifically for the event. The race was established to utilize medals remaining from previous events, often due to registered participants not collecting theirs. This waste-reduction approach also allows for a lower entry fee, as no new medals require purchasing. The outcome is a low-key winter event where the surprise medal is integral to the experience, and the day also functions as the organizer’s closing event for the season.
