About this race
The Ultra Tour of the Quarries is an 80km, 50-mile ultra marathon in Eryri/Snowdonia, featuring over 2,300 metres of ascent. Held in November, it guides participants through the UNESCO-listed Slate Landscape, with old quarries, slate workings, and remote mountain areas defining the event's character.
The course largely follows the Snowdonia Slate Trail Ultra route, opting for the shorter version instead of the full 147km race. Participants are provided with five stocked aid stations, live GPS tracking, UTMB/ITRA Index credit, and a waterproof route map. Those completing the race will receive a handmade local slate memento, a meal, and a can from Bragdy Lleu, with a soft drink alternative available. Entrants can select a recycled polyester or organic cotton event T-shirt, or opt to plant a tree.
