Gran Fondo Matildica 2026

Granfondo Matildica begins on Corso Garibaldi in Reggio Emilia, Italy, held in September as a road cycling granfondo. As a UCI Gran Fondo World Series stage, it offers two primary distances: a 153 km Granfondo with approximately 2,150 meters of elevation gain, and a 126 km Mediofondo with about 1,450 meters. The Granfondo is for men’s and women’s categories aged 19 to 49, while the Mediofondo is for categories 50 and over. The routes largely overlap, with additional loops for the Granfondo. Cyclists encounter a 4 km climb averaging 5.5% around the 53 km mark, followed by rolling terrain and an 11 km climb averaging 3.5% shortly after. Established in 1973, it ranks among the world's oldest granfondos and has also served as the UEC European Championships Granfondo. Support includes feed stops, mechanical assistance, medical care, recovery services for abandonments, bike parking, post-ride refreshments, participant gifts, and massages.
