Salumificio Rigamonti Valtellina Wine Trail 2026

The Salumificio Rigamonti Valtellina Wine Trail guides runners through vineyard rows and wine cellars in the Valtellina area of northern Italy. This November trail-running series offers 42 km, 21 km, and shorter races, along with a Mini Wine Trail. Sondrio serves as the main hub, with the finish, podium, welcome area, technical expo, and evening party all located in Piazza Garibaldi, concluding the race day in the city center. The routes connect 11 municipalities, passing vineyards, wineries, old villages, palaces, and cultural sites like the Basilica of Madonna di Tirano before the final section in central Sondrio. The event attracts athletes and amateur runners from 25 countries, fills local accommodations, and is supported by approximately 400 volunteers. Food and wine are integral to the experience, with participants enjoying hand-scraped pizzoccheri, a local Valtellina pasta, after racing. Demand is high, leading to sell-outs within hours for some distances, with the field limited to about 4,000 competitors.
