About this race
The Osaka Yodogawa Night Marathon takes place at Yodogawa River Park’s Nishikujima Baseball Field in Osaka. Participants can choose from 5 km, 10 km, and half marathon distances. The 5 km is open to elementary school students and older, the 10 km to junior high school students and older, and the half marathon to high school students and older. The event runs from late afternoon through the night, and Osaka’s curfew rules for runners under 16 are noted. Time limits are 2 hours 30 minutes for the 5 km and 10 km, and 3 hours 30 minutes for the half marathon.
The race, now in its 36th year, is designed for summer conditions, with water features and sponges provided for cooling. Pacers are available at five-minute intervals, and distance markers are placed every kilometer. Results are tracked using chip timing. The venue offers free baggage storage and distinct changing rooms for men and women. Same-day entries are accepted at the venue, with PayPay as the payment method, accommodating both pre-registered participants and spontaneous entries.
