The Stoemperstocht begins in Putten, leading cyclists into the northern Veluwe as the winter riding season commences. This off-road cycling tour is designed for participants who prefer unpaved paths, singletrack, and autumn forest trails over smooth asphalt or a basic fitness ride.
The course includes challenging segments requiring significant effort, interspersed with narrow forest paths demanding skillful bike handling and technique. Participants receive a catered break midway for rest and sustenance. The event concludes with the traditional offering of hot pea soup and bread. This soup also generates funds for Stichting ParkinsonFonds, supporting scientific research aimed at improving treatments for Parkinson's disease.
