About this race
The Thaisner Dorpsrun is a small paved road race held in Thesinge, a village near Groningen, with a limit of 500 participants. The event offers distances ranging from a short 1.2 km children's race to a marathon, with 4 km, approximately 6.5 km, 10 km, and half marathon options available. It is a village-focused event, distinct from large city races, and maintains low entry fees, with youth races costing less than adult distances.
The race begins on Kerklaan in Thesinge, with the course winding through the rural roads surrounding the village. The twentieth edition introduces a Jubilee Marathon alongside the standard distances. Stichting Dorpsrun Thesinge, supported by local sponsors, organizes the race. Participants have the option to make a voluntary donation to the Noordelijke Cara Stichting. On-site amenities include changing facilities, massage services, first aid, an AED, supervised bag storage, and parking.
