The Ślężański Festiwal Biegowy begins and ends at the mountain shelter in Sobótka. Runners head directly into the forest on the slopes of Mount Ślęża. This mountain running event offers three distances: 10.2 km, 23 km, and 42.8 km. The race originated from the Adam Palichleb Mountain Half Marathon. After eleven editions, it maintains a small, challenging character, prioritizing the running itself over a large-scale production.
The course features steep ascents, technical descents, and wooded stretches that start early and test endurance. This is not a simple flat run; the route's profile is more significant than the scenery or any fanfare. Participants attend for the mountain running experience, not for a show, and the finish at the Sobótka shelter complements this atmosphere: intimate, unadorned, and somewhat stark. The most lasting impression is of legs fatigued by the technical terrain, minds filled with the forest, and a community bound by camaraderie and a mutual passion for the mountains.
