Kabacki Forest in Ursynów, with its snow-dusted winter scenery, looks like a fairy tale. After crossing the finish line with a smile, receiving a Saint Nicholas medal, and taking souvenir photos, head into the city with family or your running team. Discover the festive illuminations on the Royal Route – at dusk, take a walk from Castle Square along Krakowskie Przedmieście. Millions of small lights, light sculptures, and a giant Christmas tree will immediately put you in the Christmas spirit. Visit the Royal Garden of Light in Wilanów – located near Ursynów – the baroque residence transforms into an open-air musical maze illuminated by thousands of diodes, which amazes all ages. Visit the Powsin Botanical Garden – located on the edge of the forest, this garden often organizes dedicated and illuminated exhibitions on winter weekends, or offers a peaceful and quiet walk amidst sleeping nature. Warm up with thick hot chocolate or traditional borscht – after a cold run in a Santa costume, nothing restores strength like a hot meal. Stop for pierogi with cabbage and mushrooms, and for dessert, don't miss the iconic chocolate shop for a thick, sweet drink. Warsaw in winter is full of incredible pre-holiday energy and is remarkably well-connected to the rest of the country (you can easily reach the start in Ursynów by metro). If, after this Saint Nicholas weekend in the capital, you want to continue your journey, you can reach the charming Żyrardów or the central Łódź in less than an hour by car or train.
