Tatra SkyMarathon is a 45 km loop Skyrace in the Polish High Tatras above Zakopane, featuring 3,300 metres of climbing across rugged alpine terrain. It is part of the Skyrunner World Series and requires genuine mountain skills: strong climbing legs, confident descending, and comfort on exposed rock, not just road-running fitness.
The route crosses the Czerwone Wierchy ridge and Starorobociański Wierch, including two vertical-style climbs of approximately 1,200 metres each. Participants begin on forested lower slopes before ascending to granite ridges, exposed sections, technical boulder fields, open valleys, and challenging Tatra descents where precise footwork is as crucial as endurance.
