Epic Trail Run Azores 2026

EPIC AZORES is a trail running event on São Miguel Island in the Azores, Portugal, offering races from a 3 km kids’ run to a 167 km mountain ultra. The competitive program features EPIC100M, EPIC100K, EPIC60, EPIC30, EPIC15, and EPIC_Kids. A non-competitive EPIC_DayWalk is available for those who prefer the route without racing. The main distances are for adults; EPIC15 is open to runners aged 16 and up, and the kids’ race is for ages 4 to 15. The routes are linear and non-stop, crossing trails, paths, forest roads, and some asphalt through Vila Franca do Campo, Povoação, Nordeste, Ribeira Grande, and Lagoa. The terrain is mountainous with significant climbing. The island setting guides runners past volcanic lakes, laurel forests, and coastal cliffs. The longer races are limited to 100 runners each for the 167 km and 108 km events, while shorter distances accommodate larger fields. EPIC AZORES is certified by ITRA, the UTMB World Series, and the Portuguese Trail Running Association, and is part of the São Miguel Trail Circuit. The event enforces a strict zero-plastic policy, aligning with the race’s focus on endurance, respect, and environmental care.
