About this race
Västgötaloppet Trail is a family-friendly trail race held at Dammen in Tvärred, south of Ulricehamn, Sweden. Participants can select from 7, 17, or 27 km courses, with all adult distances commencing in the morning from the same starting area. The event is designed for trail running, featuring narrow paths, mossy rock sections, and significant elevation changes within the forests surrounding Tvärred.
All routes begin and end at Dammen, incorporating segments along the western shore of Lake Åsunden that offer open vistas contrasting with the forest trails. The 7 km route provides a shorter, yet challenging, option, while the longer distances cater to those seeking extended time on rugged, undulating terrain. The event also includes activities for families: a complimentary mini-trail for children aged 0 to 8, a cafe serving refreshments, live music, seating areas, nearby parking, course marshals, a public address system for spectators, and hot food along with a medal for all finishers.
