Javornícka stovka 2026

Javornícka stovka begins on Námestie slobody square in Čadca, sending runners and walkers across the Javorníky mountains of western Slovakia to Lysá pod Makytou. This mountain ultramarathon and long-distance march is for individuals, with separate men’s and women’s categories, usually held in October. The route spans approximately 105 to 106 km, involves over 4,000 meters of climbing, and participants have 28 hours to complete it. With an entry cap of 200 people, it is a small mountain race, not a large city-style ultra. The current point-to-point course was established after several modifications. The initial trial, named “100 km Javorníkmi,” attracted fewer than 40 participants and ran between Považská Bystrica and Čadca in harsh weather. Later editions reversed the direction before the route was adjusted to include Makyta and finish in Lysá pod Makytou, at which point the race adopted the Javornícka stovka name. SLOVAK ULTRA TRAIL organizes the event, maintaining the character of a demanding local mountain ultra: a long night-and-day effort, a limited field, significant climbing, and a finish in a small village instead of a stadium.
