The Annual Turkey Triathlon is a reverse sprint triathlon held on the Weber State Campus. The order of events is run, bike, then swim. It features a 5k run, a 10k bike ride, and a 300-yard swim, designed for those seeking triathlon experience without committing to a long-distance event. Weber State Campus Recreation organizes the race, with the start line and transition area located by Swenson Gym in Parking Lot A7. The race begins in waves following a pre-race meeting, and a helmet is required for the bike leg.
The course winds around campus, with the run and bike segments utilizing Weber State’s roads before athletes complete the short swim. The event embraces its Thanksgiving theme, encouraging participants to wear turkey costumes or other holiday attire. A food drive for Weber Cares Pantry is also part of the event; participants bringing donation items receive an additional raffle ticket. In case of inclement weather, the race can be moved indoors, aligning with the event's beginner-friendly nature rather than proceeding with a difficult outdoor race.
