Daily News Press Run - Galveston 2026

The Daily News Press Run in Galveston uses certified courses on the Galveston Causeway for its 5K and 10K races. This local, annual event offers a Kids K, in-person 5K and 10K races, and virtual 5K and 10K options. It also features a “Race from Pillow” donation entry that includes a shirt, and a donation-only option for those wishing to support the cause without participating in a race. The race supports the Newspapers In Education program, which provides teachers with newspaper-based materials to enhance reading comprehension, critical thinking, and the connection between classroom learning and the world. The Kids K receives sponsorship from Whataburger. The event also includes a book character costume contest, vendor booths, music, and food, emphasizing literacy and community alongside the running. Participants park in the Target lot on Broadway and take shuttle buses to the race start.
