Georgia Southern True Blue 5K & Abbie's Adventure Race 2026

Georgia Southern’s True Blue 5K and Abbie’s Adventure Race is an annual campus race day on the university’s Statesboro campus, tied to Homecoming and True Blue school spirit. The Adventure Race starts first in the morning, followed by the traditional 5K about half an hour later. The event draws runners and walkers of all ages, with a virtual option for people who want to join from elsewhere, and it supports the Abbie DeLoach Foundation. The regular 5K runs through the campus grounds, while Abbie’s Adventure Race turns the same basic distance into a team-style challenge with physical and mental obstacles, plus mud and water. The Adventure Race has included 22 teams, and the full event has drawn more than 350 participants. Student organizations, community groups, fraternities, sororities, and local gyms all show up, which makes it feel more like a campus-community gathering than a standard road race. Organizers have also used the event as a way to lift spirits after Hurricane Helene.
