Radford University Tartan 5k, A Twilight Run

Radford University’s Tartan 5K is an evening 5K in Roanoke, Virginia. The pre-race gathering begins at 5:30 p.m. The race is supported by Radford University’s Roanoke health science campus, focusing on healthcare students, workers, and aspiring professionals. It offers a chip-timed 5K run and a virtual 5K option. The in-person course winds through the Roanoke Greenway. Runners, walkers, strollers, and dogs are permitted, positioning it as a community event rather than a competitive road race. Participants are invited to wear scrubs to recognize healthcare workers or a kilt for Radford Highlander spirit. Radford students, faculty, staff, alumni, and current healthcare workers receive registration discounts. The race shirt is designed by a Radford University student.
