Rocky Gap 25K, 50K, Relay Trail Run

The Rocky Gap 25K, 50K, and Relay Trail Run is an October trail race held at Rocky Gap State Park in Flintstone, western Maryland. Participants can run solo or in relay teams of two or three. Both the approximately 16-mile 25K and the approximately 32-mile 50K are open to teams. This event is positioned within the adventure and stage-race category, designed for trail runners rather than those focused on prize money. The course consists of three distinct loops within the park. The 25K covers each loop once, while the 50K completes the entire set of loops twice. This structure allows relay teams to distribute the challenging mountain-trail effort. Approximately 90 percent of the course follows unpaved trails. Race organizers have been hosting events in Rocky Gap State Park since 2004, and this ultra-distance race originated from that established local race series.
