About this race
The Salvation Army Red Kettle Run takes place in the morning at Braden Aboud Memorial Park in El Paso, Texas. It features a 5-mile run and a 1-mile Family Fun Run/Walk. The family mile begins first, with the 5-mile race starting shortly after. This setup accommodates runners aiming for a top spot and those preferring a relaxed walk or brief run with family.
The race directly supports Thanksgiving aid in the community, with all proceeds used to purchase turkeys; each $25 donation provides one turkey. The initial 400 participants will receive T-shirts. Trophies are awarded to the overall fastest male and female finishers in the 5-mile race. Medals are given to the top three finishers in each age group, from 9-and-under up to 70-and-over. Additionally, a trophy for the Largest Team encourages schools, workplaces, clubs, and families to participate together.
