Summit Mountain Challenge 2026

Summit Mountain Challenge takes mountain bikers to the trails of Summit County, Colorado, on Wednesday evenings during the summer. The series, running from May to August, features six race/ride events with course options for long-course, short-course, and kids' categories. The riding incorporates fast trail sections, significant climbs, and concludes with the Breckenridge Classic. Series standings are determined by completing five of the six events on the same course type, rewarding consistent participation over a single standout performance. Breckenridge Recreation now manages the series, having acquired it from Jeff “Westy” Wescott of Maverick Sports Promotions. The series continues its emphasis on affordable, organized local racing, operating under a USDA Forest Service permit within the White River National Forest.
