About this race

The Next Loop at Pinnacle Mountain is a November trail endurance race at Pinnacle Mountain State Park in Roland, Arkansas. Instead of one fixed distance, everyone runs the same clearly marked 3.1-mile loop, with a fresh lap starting every hour. Runners decide how far they want to go: one loop counts as a 5K, two as a 10K, four as a half marathon, nine as a marathon, and ten as a 50K. The course uses natural terrain and keeps coming back to a central base area, so runners can refuel before each loop and crews can help without chasing people around the park. Each circuit is timed, and final results are sorted by how many loops a runner finishes and their total time. There are no DNFs for stopping early; when someone decides they are done, every completed loop still counts officially. EverFurther Events produces the series, which is built around this choose-your-distance loop format.
