About this race

The unPAved of the Susquehanna River Valley is a mid-October gravel cycling event based in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, with routes through Union and Snyder Counties in the center of the state. The longest option is the Full-130: 129 miles, about 100 unpaved, with 12,000 feet of climbing, 13 named climbs, seven aid stations, and 59 miles of timed racing split into segments. Riders seeking less distance can choose the 90-mile Plenty, the 50-mile Proper, or a 30-mile gravel ride, while ultra riders can take on the self-supported Big Lick 200. The routes use forest roads, farm-country lanes, hard climbs, fast descents, tree tunnels, and fall-color stretches that explain the event’s line: “Easy On The Eyes. Hard On The Legs.” The day can be raced hard in the Race for Whoopie Pies, which includes cash prizes, or ridden at “Pierogi Pace” for people who want the full route or a shorter one without chasing speed. There is also a Slumber Party version where riders start Saturday, sleep over at RB Winter State Park, and finish Sunday, giving the weekend a more social, bike-camp feel.
