Zombie Half Marathon

The Zombie Half Marathon is a late-season half marathon in Anchorage, Alaska, with runners encouraged to show up in zombie costume. The in-person race starts at Goose Lake Picnic Shelter, with an early wave for walkers and a main half marathon wave after that. A virtual half marathon is also offered, and the event includes a two-person relay option for runners who want to split the distance. The course is one way from Goose Lake to Kincaid Chalet, using the Chester Creek and Coastal trails and passing the West Chester Creek Lagoon before heading toward Kincaid. Runners need to plan their own ride because there is no shuttle between the start and finish. The race goes ahead regardless of weather or trail conditions, and official finishers must make the afternoon cutoff. The zombie theme carries into packet pickup too: Anchorage Brewing Company hosts pickup, donates money from each Zombie Brew sold, and adds a social run with door prizes.
