Triatlón Olímpico de Getxo - Memorial Agustín Ugarte 2026

The Getxo Olympic Triathlon - Agustín Ugarte Memorial is a non-drafting Olympic-distance triathlon held in Getxo, on Spain's Bizkaia coast. Participants swim 1,500 meters in the Cantabrian Sea, circling Puerto Viejo and Ereaga beach. The 44 km bike course is followed by a 10 km run along the port and promenade. This event is organized by the local club Getxo Triatloi Taldea and is included in the Euskadi Championship. The bike course follows the right bank of the Bilbao estuary, featuring two ascents of Unbe Mendi, making it more than just a flat coastal route. The run course returns athletes along the Getxo seafront, with spectators cheering at the port before the finish in Puerto Viejo. The race commemorates Agustín Ugarte Ibargaray.
