Belfairs 5 Run – Woodland Charity Fun Run in Southend 2026

Belfairs 5 Run is a 5-mile off-road charity run in Southend, taking place in September at Belfairs Woods, near the Belfairs Nature Discovery Centre. All participants start together at 10:30am. The event prioritizes participation over road-race speed or rankings. Entry costs £15, spaces are limited, and all profits are donated to Essex Wildlife Trust. The route follows ancient woodland paths, including leafy trails, shaded sections, and undulating terrain, offering more challenge than a flat road race. The woods feature historic coppiced trees, wildflowers, rare butterflies, and song thrushes, making the natural setting a significant draw. Runners aged 14 and above are eligible. Those aged 14 to 16 require adult accompaniment, contributing to a relaxed community atmosphere rather than a competitive racing event.
