Półmaraton w Żywcu

The Half Marathon around Żywiec Lake begins and ends on Rynek, the central square of Żywiec, a historic beer-brewing town in southern Poland. This spring road race takes place in the Silesian Voivodeship, featuring a certified 21.1 km course with a three-hour time limit. The course encircles the 8 km-long Jezioro Żywieckie reservoir in the Beskid Mountains, presenting more elevation changes than a flat city half marathon, with a total ascent of 465 metres. The event attracts participants from Poland and other countries; recent years have seen over 2,000 finishers. The start time may shift slightly to accommodate train traffic on the Żywiec-Bielsko-Biała line.
