The Stein Dash

The Stein Dash is a 5K held at the Washington State Fair events center in Puyallup, structured around Oktoberfest NW instead of a typical road race. Participants receive a commemorative stein, shirt, and bib during packet pickup before running 3.1 miles, with beer integrated into the race. This event continues an Oktoberfest tradition, featuring oompah and polka music within the festival atmosphere. The course features three Beer Zones. The race clock continues while participants stop to drink, meaning the beer breaks count toward the final time. The finish line leads runners directly into the Festhalle at Oktoberfest NW, where finishers gain free entry and can enjoy beer, food, football on televisions, and the Wiener Dog Races. Children aged 10 and under can participate in their own half-mile Root Beer Run, which includes a root beer chug at the midpoint before they run to the finish.
