À propos de cette course
The Franken-Bike-Marathon is a mountain bike marathon held annually in Lichtenfels-Trieb, a small district in Upper Franconia, Germany. Approximately 700 residents witness their village become a regional MTB center for this event. Radfahrverein Concordia Trieb e.V., the local cycling club, organizes it, providing three route options: 20 km with roughly 500 m of elevation gain, 50 km with 1,400 m, and 90 km with 2,350 m. E-bikes are permitted on the 50 km route, and registration is available via the marathon's official website.
The riding takes place in the low hills bordering the Franconian Switzerland Nature Park, featuring numerous trails and forest roads instead of just gravel paths. The course presents technical challenges, transitioning between rough Franconian terrain and smoother sections, requiring both bike handling skills and endurance. Bike - das Mountainbike-Magazin recognized it as one of Europe's ten most scenic MTB marathons with cult status, and the event is also part of the Challenge-Lauf series.
