One Last Tri marks the end of Minnesota's multisport season, offering Olympic and Sprint distance triathlons, along with Aqua Bike and relay categories. Its format suits newcomers due to a shorter swim, yet it provides experienced athletes a fitting season conclusion with an extended bike segment and a swift run by the lake. Time-trial, self-seeded starts allow athletes to line up according to their anticipated pace, avoiding a mass start. The bike route winds through Stillwater's rural landscape, featuring views of local horse farms and vineyards before returning towards White Bear Lake. The run course remains level along the lake, ideal for achieving a fast time after the more challenging cycling portion. Participants range from novices and experienced triathletes to relay squads, Aqua Bike competitors, and a collegiate competition, concluding with a barbecue at White Bear Lake.
