LewisGale Salem Half Marathon, 8K and Kids Fun Run

The LewisGale Salem Half Marathon, 8K and Kids Fun Run starts and finishes at the Salem Farmers Market in downtown Salem, Virginia. The lineup gives runners a half marathon, an 8K, and kids' one-mile and two-mile fun runs, with virtual options for the half marathon and 8K. The half marathon starts in the morning, and the whole series fits Salem's identity as a sports town with a long record of hosting NCAA national championships and other major tournaments. The course runs through Salem neighborhoods, Roanoke College, and the downtown business district before returning to the Farmers Market. Blue Ridge Racing manages the event, the same group behind the Foot Levelers Blue Ridge Marathon. Runners who like series challenges can use the Salem half as part of Virginia's Blue Ridge Triple Crown with the Blue Ridge Full or Half Marathon and the Star City Half Marathon, or use the Salem 8K in the shorter Triple Crown Sprint Series with the Blue Ridge Star-K or relay and the Star City 10K.
