Garmin – Send to Calendar

For Free Accounts

You can still send directly to Garmin Connect for free.  Everything still works the same as it did.  You just have one extra button click.  Send to Garmin Library allows you to go to Garmin Connect and push your workouts to your device.  We have always sent Garmin 3s (3 second power target), so this is also unchanged.  If you upgrade you get these additional options.

Send to Garmin Calendar

Go to a workout and click Send To > Garmin you will see this popup.  You must have a paid membership.  The great advantage of sending directly to your Garmin calendar is you don’t have to go to Garmin connect app or site to push the workout to your device.  It will now just show up on your device automatically.  One less step!!!

If you don’t have a paid membership.  Please help support us.  That way we can keep building cool stuff.

If you want to learn more about the other Garmin options click here.

  1. Hello,
I am free account and i´m trying to export a sesion directly to Garmin by using “Send” default option; but then, don´t know where found the sesion in Garmin Connect; i don´t know where Garmin Libray is. Can you help me, please?

  2. Hello, I poisoned a workout with heart rate data in Garmin and entered the 80% threshold incorrectly, how can I fix this? Teach me please.

    1. Ok, the bug is fixed, if you are connected to Garmin or TrainingPeaks under the Account menu you will see Edit Threshold HR. Let me know if you have any other questions.

  3. IGA, I assume you have a paid account. If you do, you are right, we made an enhancement regarding how this works and you can’t set your threshold HR right now. We will fix this bug, should be done by tomorrow. We don’t have zones, we just do an automatic conversion from Power to HR based on Coggan’s estimates. You do need to be able to set your threshold HR, which is essentially the same as your FTP HR.

  4. How is a Exact Power converted to a Power Range when exporting to Garmin on the free version?

    1. Hello Tjeerd, The power range is +-5% which people we have talked with consider good for outdoor and the exact power mode is a paid feature that is better for indoor ERG mode since the trainer controls exact power. Does that answer your question?

  5. Good morning. Do I need a subscription to convert FTP to HR files? The file conversion takes place for all or only for some, as described.! Thank you

  6. Yes this is a paid feature, and yes it only makes sense for some workouts, short sprints don’t work well with HR targets because your hearth has a lag between when you start your sprint.

  7. It might make more sense for Lap Avg to be the default Garmin workout export option (instead of 3s Power). Maybe others disagree but that’s my opinion. I’m pretty sure Lap Avg is what TrainerRoad exports.

    1. Yes RENSCHLER, I do know this is a personal preference and I came to the conclusion that 3s is most people’s preference and out of 1k+ people only two have suggested this but since TrainerRoad has a lot more money for research and a big team you might be right. I found an article on their site confirming they use lap-power. I don’t mind giving free-users the best option but if I change it now there might be a bunch of unhappy people. I decided we need a feature voting system so I just created one and added your suggestion here.

I have a lot of feature suggestions from people so I will start adding them.

  8. Hello,

I am a free account and for me it´s impossible to look for the library in the garmin connect program. I´ve develop a schedule to train this week but I try to send many times to Garmin Connect and it´s imposible for me to find it the documents.

    Could you help me please?

    1. Hello JO88, can you send me an email to address at the bottom and I will explain. But you must send one workout at a time to Garmin and you will see it in the Training/Workouts area in garmin connect.

      1. Hi Alex!, objetive achieved!. Finally I could see the workout. Sorry for the complains, I had a little problem about update my Garmin and I think that´s the reason why I couldn´t see the workout schedule.

But now I can see it properly.

Thanks for all and sorry for the complains.

        Best regards,

        1. Great to hear Joaquín, don’t worry I did not see them as complaints, just as a problem 🙂

  9. Greetings, my intent is to use your workouts with a Tacx Vortex smart trainer, does your drills “instruct” my trainer to increase or decrease difficulty/power/slope etc for free plans ?

    Best regards,

  10. Hello Jose, yes our workouts will control your trainer. Our app will also control your trainer. Our app only contains 20-free workouts. If you want to have more workouts in the app you must pay for the upgrade. This post is about Garmin, so yes you can send these ERG based workouts to your Garmin to control your Vortex and that is FREE. I think using our app is much better than using the Garmin 🙂

    1. Thx Alex 4 your prompt response, now the million dollar question is: will my FR 945 control my trainer with your workouts ? Indoor trainer control has been enabled recently with firmware update, will keep you posted
