TSV Brokstedt’s 100th anniversary is marked by the 100 km Staffellauf, a relay race held on the club’s sports field in Brokstedt. Youth and adult teams will cover 100 km by running 50 one-kilometre laps, beginning on the A-Platz in the afternoon. This is primarily a team event: each youth/adult squad comprises 7 to 15 runners, with at least two women required. Runners typically participate in pairs.
For children up to age 13, a separate version involves 10 to 25 children completing 25 laps for 50 km. Companies, clubs, families, school classes, and groups of friends are welcome to enter, with a limit of 100 teams. The objective extends beyond achieving the fastest total time; organizer Stephan Kretschmer notes that teams are recognized even if they don't complete every lap, provided they participated and enjoyed themselves. Following the running, an award ceremony and evening celebration will take place, positioning the relay as a local club birthday party as much as a competition.
