Clara Morales is a two-person relay swim held at La Patacona beach in Alboraya, north of Valencia. The start and finish are located at Plaza Joan Baptista Basset on Avenida Mare Nostrum. This is Valencia's sole relay swimming race. The format requires each team to cover 3,000 meters, with one swimmer completing 1,500 meters and their teammate swimming the other 1,500. The race begins in the morning and typically offers about 400 swimmer places, giving it the feel of a local open-water event designed for teams.
Club Natación Patacona and Alboraya City Council organize the swim, with assistance from local collaborators. The race is named in memory of Clara Morales, who passed away from an aneurysm. Proceeds benefit Nueva Opción, a Valencian association supporting individuals with acquired brain damage. Teams can register in male, female, mixed, or functional categories. Age groups are determined by the combined ages of the two swimmers. Swimmers as young as 14 may participate with the necessary authorization, subject to additional federation rules for some 14-year-olds.
