Festival des Templiers is an October trail-running event held in Millau, a historic Templar city in Aveyron, southern France. Established in 1995, it is considered France's first trail race and now attracts participants from outside France, forming part of the international trail running schedule. The event features eleven race distances, including three short trail races and two 11 km options, with one of these exclusively for women.
The courses venture into the Grands Causses, utilizing the Causse Noir and the Dourbie and Tarn valleys for their rocky, natural landscapes instead of urban environments. Millau also expands the event into a broader trail weekend, featuring a trail village and the Trail Salon, which is France's second-largest running expo. The festival incorporates its Templar heritage through its use of knightly and bravery-themed language, but its primary participants are nature-focused runners drawn to challenging trails, a mountainous ambiance, and the sport's outdoor ethos.
