Cardiff Half Marathon 2026

The Cardiff Half Marathon takes place in Wales’ capital, with 27,500 runners starting each year. Founded in 2003, this major city road half marathon sells out annually. The participants include elite athletes, charity fundraisers, and first-time runners, making the front of the race competitive while the remainder feels like a community event for the city. The course goes by Cardiff Castle, the Principality Stadium, the Civic Centre, and Cardiff Bay, with crowds lining the streets in Cardiff and around the bay. The event has expanded from its initial 1,500 runners to become one of Europe’s larger half marathons, and it has previously hosted the World Half Marathon Championships. It is also a member of the SuperHalfs series, and Junior Races held over the weekend offer opportunities for younger runners to participate.
