The Cardiff Bay 10K Junior comprises supporting children’s races held alongside the Brecon Carreg Cardiff Bay 10K in Cardiff’s historic Bay. The main race day centers on a flat, fast springtime 10K starting and finishing in Roald Dahl Plass, with the junior events offering younger runners a chance to participate on the same Cardiff Bay weekend.
The primary 10K course goes by the Wales Millennium Centre, Mermaid Quay, the Pierhead Building, the Senedd, Porth Teigr, the Norwegian Church, and the Cardiff Bay Barrage. The event attracts leading UK athletes, club runners, charity participants, individuals running for fitness, and first-time 10K runners; it is also the largest 10K road race in Wales. The race is presently paused as organizers and Cardiff Council assess route feasibility amid indoor arena and tram-line development around the Bay.
