The Okinawa Zanpa Cape Yuuzora Zekkei Marathon is a small running event held at Zanpa Cape Park in Yomitan Village, Okinawa Prefecture. It centers on afternoon running and appreciating the sunset sky near the cape. Participants can choose from 20 km, 10 km, or 5 km individual races, along with a 20 km team relay. Each individual race has a limit of 100 runners, and the relay is capped at 30 teams, positioning it as a local community event rather than a large city marathon.
The individual races are open to healthy runners aged 15 and older; those under 18 require parental consent. Relay teams consist of 4 to 8 members of any age or gender. Each relay runner must complete at least one lap before passing the timing chip at the exchange point. The 20 km race and the relay begin first, followed by the shorter individual races a few minutes later. All events are planned to conclude by mid-afternoon. The team format allows flexibility, as teams can determine their own running order and the number of laps for each member.
