Thousands of headlamps moving through Gdynia after dark are the image that sticks from the Night Run of Midsummer with Decathlon. It is a 10 km road race in Gdynia, Poland, and part of the Grand Prix de Gdynia series. The start leans into the Midsummer mood more than the other races in the cycle, with sea air, night running, and a medal linked to sea legends or Noc Swietojanska traditions.
The route uses asphalt streets and passes Swietojanska Street, Skwer Kosciuszki, and the port area, where the lights of the harbor do a lot of the work. After finishing, runners are close to the city beach, so cooling tired feet in the Baltic is part of the night for some people. Others walk the quay past Dar Mlodziezy and ORP Blyskawica, climb Kamienna Gora to breathe for a while, or head back toward Swietojanska for food after the race.
