Currahee Challenge 5K/10K 2026

The Currahee Challenge starts at the base of Currahee Mountain in Toccoa, Georgia, with a 5K run/walk and a 10K run on the Colonel Robert Sink Trail. The 10K is a hill run, so this is not a flat, casual road race, and the finish line stays open until late morning for runners and walkers coming off the mountain. The trail matters because it was a training site for the 501st, 506th, 511th, and 517th Parachute Infantry Regiments. The race is sponsored by the Currahee Military Museum, and its identity is tied closely to the mountain’s airborne training history, including the units later portrayed in Band of Brothers, Saving Private Ryan, and The Dirty Dozen.
