Oktoberfest 5K Run & Walk

The Oktoberfest 5K Run & Walk comprises short festival races connected to local Oktoberfest events in locations like Cleveland, Seymour, and Elkhorn. The Cleveland race occurs during Labor Day weekend at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds, featuring a timed 5K Bier Run alongside a one-mile walk. These events prioritize community participation: runners can compete for time, families can walk together, or individuals can use the race as a starting point for enjoying the festival. The Cleveland race provides participants with a beer, a T-shirt, a commemorative mug, and eligibility for age-group awards. Those wearing authentic German costumes receive additional festival admission. The Elkhorn run/walk begins and ends at the Elkhorn School District Admin Building, includes timing and a race shirt, and grants participants admission to Oktoberfest with beer and wine tasting. Non-alcoholic root beer is available for those under 21. Awards are typically given to the top overall runners and age-group finishers.
