Saddles 100 sends runners into the high desert above Prescott, Arizona, with a blunt choice: 50 miles or 100 miles on trails. Satisfy Running and Michael Versteeg present the race, and its own language is intentionally rough-edged: a long day outside in the Arizona desert, with distance, dust, rock, pine, and night all part of the deal. Knog supports the event as the lighting partner, supplying Bilby Run 400 headlamps for the 100-mile runners and Bandicoot 250 headlamps for the 50-mile runners. The course uses a loop through the terrain around Prescott, starting as first light reaches the Arizona high desert and the mountains sit on the horizon. The race draws Satisfy athletes as well as ultrarunners looking for a hard desert outing; Stian Sommerseth comes to it after a top-20 run at CCC, while London-based Vaida Nakrosiute brings mountain miles from Marathon du Mont Blanc and Laugavegur Ultra.
