Informazioni su questa gara
The Black Forest Marathon begins and ends in Bräunlingen, a town in Germany’s Baden-Württemberg region near the Black Forest. Held on the second weekend of October, it features a full marathon, marathon relay, half marathon, 10 km trail run, 10 km Nordic walking or walking, a 5 km race, and short races for school children and youth. The event originated in 1968, establishing it as Germany’s third-oldest marathon and the world’s oldest marathon to officially permit women runners from its inception.
The marathon course follows mostly well-maintained forest paths, with approximately one-fifth on asphalt. It ascends gradually until roughly the halfway point, then descends gently back toward Bräunlingen, distinguishing it from flat city marathons and mountain races. The event accommodates a wide range of participants: marathoners, relay teams, half-marathon runners, walkers, children, and local club runners compete over the same weekend. All finishers are awarded a medal. Additionally, registered participants in the marathon, relay, half marathon, and 10 km races receive sports socks. Certificates are available for printing at the event or online.
