The Richmond Castle 10K is a road race held in Richmond, North Yorkshire, starting at 11am on a Sunday in October. Swaledale Runners, an England Athletics club with bases in Richmond and Northallerton, organizes the event. The race is based at The Batts, the park by the River Swale below Richmond Castle, which serves as the registration, start, and finish area.
The course is predominantly on roads, featuring a brief grass section within The Batts. Participants will run past the River Swale Waterfalls, cross at Green Bridge, ascend Sleegill, and from the hill, can see the castle. The route then circles Catterick Garrison before returning to Richmond. It concludes by going around Richmond Castle on Castle Walk and descending into The Batts for the finish. Results from recent editions are available, noting the course records.
