Informazioni su questa gara
For 1,000 yen, runners can compete in 5 km, 10 km, or 20 km races around Tokyo's Imperial Palace during this September PSS health-running event. A 20 km relay is also available for teams, costing 4,000 yen with a limit of 25 teams. The longer individual and relay races commence at 8:20 a.m., while the 5 km and 10 km races begin at 9:00 a.m. PSS Inc. organizes the event, which has limited entries and uses manual stopwatch and printer timing instead of electronic chips.
The start and finish are located near the clock tower within Sakuradamon, allowing the longer races to function as multiple laps around the palace. The rules are notably flexible: latecomers are permitted, same-day registration is possible, participants may change distances on the day, and finishing early still results in a recorded distance rather than a DNF. The 20 km race has a cutoff, requiring runners to start their fourth lap by 10:15 a.m. to proceed; 10 km runners must reach the 5 km mark by the same time. All participants receive a prize, which includes a sports drink and a voucher for an izakaya meal. Feedback generally describes it as an affordable, functional training race for assessing fitness, practicing lap pace, or preparing for a marathon.
