The Santa Cause 5K 2026

The Santa Cause 5K is a December charity run in Newark, Delaware, starting at Olan Thomas Park below Cleveland Avenue. It is a casual 5K with a holiday feel: participants are encouraged to wear ugly sweaters, and the entry fee is lower for runners age 18 and under than for adults. After the run, the event continues at Klondike Kate's for awards, snacks, and drinks. The race supports Friends of Fusion Foundation, which aids children and first responders in Delaware, and it also collects holiday food donations for the Newark Area Welfare Committee. Awards are given to overall winners, masters runners, and age-group finishers, with overall and masters places decided by gun time and age groups by chip time.
