TRAILS - Flyvestationen takes place in late November at Flyvestation Værløse, a former airfield north of Copenhagen. The course offers open ground, hilly paths, woodland, beach sections, and historical surroundings. Participants can complete one, two, or three laps of a 5 km loop, resulting in distances of approximately 5 km, 10 km, or 15 km. The organizer mentions that the measured loop length can differ by 5-10%, contributing to a feeling of a relaxed trail challenge rather than a road race focused on precise splits.
The race is organized by the team behind Nordic Race and has a limit of 400 participants. The start includes all runners, from beginners and casual joggers to experienced off-road athletes. All distances are chip-timed using a disposable chip attached to the bib. A separate 5 km heat is available for participants running with dogs, provided the dogs are healthy, vaccinated, and leashed with a maximum length of 2 meters. The start and finish area is kept straightforward, with water provided. Runners are encouraged to bring reusable bottles, and fruit and a medal are available at the finish.
