La Montée de Saint-Probace begins and ends in the village center of Tourves, in the Var department of Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur. This November road race offers two distances: a 6 km suitable for beginners and a more challenging 12 km that embraces the climb suggested by its name. The event’s slogan humorously notes that “Saint-Probace tests your saint cardio,” aligning with a race focused on short distances that still require uphill effort.
The longer course has featured hilly loops above Tourves, with the chapel of Saint-Probace serving as the highest point and the village’s chapel and castle forming part of the local scenery. Previous editions combined paved roads with forest paths and narrow trails through the green Provence region, opening up to vistas of nearby mountain ranges. The participation is local in scale, with a few hundred runners typically taking part. Modern race amenities include chip timing, live GPS tracking, and app notifications for supporters to follow participants.
